You could try walking.
When the flight or fight thing kicks in and causes anxiety, it can really help to flee, that is, walk. Fast. And it's a great way to think. If you need to figure out what's going on and you don't want to take the meds, walking and thinking can help.
When I can't walk, I take the meds.
