I do think that a CBT therapist would be good for social anxiety. I don't have it, but I've seen it work for others. And if you can find someone who specializes, all the better. Even if it may cost a bit more, it may result in shorter, more efficient treatment. Then, if something comes up that is not specifically social anxiety-related, you can to back to your pdoc, continue with the specialist if that seems right, or find a different T.

Good luck. Social anxiety is a also a more hidden problem, and people don't always understand it.
