questions about a child diagnosed with ADHD

My friend has a 10 year old that was diagnosed ADHD. He takes time Ritalin. His Mother doesn't tell the Dr everything about his behaviors and I'm trying to help her put it together. Is it a part of ADHD to be have OCD? He is so attached to the weather channel and that's all he watches and worries about the weather all the time. He just seems to be on a different plane than others. His mother has OCD but won't get help.
The child has no friends and it's to the point where no one wants to come around because of the constant fighting in the house. I want to support her but it's hard when I don't think she tells the Dr the straight story.
