Jeez, I have always heard that calcium supplimentation was very important for women. I think 1200-1500mg daily is the recommendation for post menopausal women.
I use Pioneer (can I name a brand name?) They have several formulas, one vegetarian, one from bone protein and one with ipriflavone. They recommend a 2:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium unless there is constipation in which case they recommend a 1:1 ratio. All the formula have D2 or D3.
Hope this is helpful.
