Thanks, GG.

Lamar and I had 9 years together (I got him from Collie Rescue). Mostly excellent years, although I think before he was picked up by a good samaritan (he was on the roadside of a major highway) he had some trauma, like maybe being hit by a car or something, but no broken bones, etc. He seemed to have some neurological damage and was deaf in one ear. But, sweet and pure to the core. He won 2nd place in Novice obedience training.

My S.O. always described Lamar like the guy who is always stoned, sauntering up saying "Hey, dudes, what's happening? Is that food I smell?" and things like that. And, it was an excellent and funny description.

He was also a great protector. He protected us from the letter carrier, children walking home from school, kids riding their bikes in front of our house, noisy trucks, etc. Now, if a burgler had just come in the front gate and walked in, Lamar would've been like "Hey, Dude, what's up? Got any food? You probably want to pet me, huh?"

Thanks for your kind condolences.

xoxo
Shar
