Actually, better than expected. A lot of animosity between my mother (my aunt's sister) and my aunt's son. But, he did the good thing, and at the very, very end came to her and said, you took good care of her.
There are a lot of horrific details I won't bother to share. But, with my mom being 82, I was always the one who went to the lawyer with her (for guardianship of the person vs. estate).
Anyhow, I was not really that close to my aunt. My sis lived with her and my uncle for a year or so after my dad died. (I still don't know why mom felt she had to farm us out...sis in Dallas, me in San Antonio.) It was just all bad for me, but my uncle used to give sis money, permissions, etc. that I didn't get because I was dealing with my half-crazed mother.
Oh well, I guess life happens.
thanks for your well wishes. My aunt's death was a blessing. And, interestingly enough, happened about 2 days after we requested Hospice services.
oh well. Everyone behaved themselves, which, in my family is something of a miracle in itself. Us eye-ties are much more prone to throwing ourselves onto caskets, weeping quite loudly!
Thanks, Shar
