I am so very sorry for your loss. I have two brothers, and I know it would tear me apart if I lost one of them. It is like there is some special bond between brothers and sisters.

I am also saddened to hear that you will not be able to go to the funeral to be among family and friends to mourn your brother's death. That must be very hard on you. Perhaps you can do something on your own to help you mourn his passing but at the same celebrate his life. It is just a thought, but maybe you could gather a few trusted friends and hold your own personal memorial service.

As you go through this difficult, I hope you will be comforted by good thoughts of your brother, what he meant to you and the love and support of friends and family.

My deepest sympathies to you. Take care.

> he had surgery last week and never woke up. part of me is glad he is no longer in pain and hopefully at peace. he never went through any type of counselling so I worry that he didn't come to terms with his dying, and I especially worry about his wife and kids. I wish I was closer to help but I'm not. I'm not going to the funeral- I just can never go to those anymore, and part of me is feeling guilty. I know they are for the living- but his family has closed ranks and won't let anyone in. so just sad and tired and I feel- this just isn't fair.
