My sympathies to you on your loss. I agree with Judy that we keep people close and with us by talking about them, and allowing ourselves to think about them and things they would do.

I once had a friend tell me that the first year is the hardest because you go through your first holidays without them, first birthday without them, first everything. And it was true, for me at least, and I'm glad she mentioned it or I know it would've taken me quite off guard.

Grief takes as long as it takes. I'm sorry about your mom, and that you are so sad.
