In the Apostolic Creed there is this stuff that feels like Jesus was in a cosmic elevator.
He dies, then descends into hell, then rises from the dead.
A minister explained it to me once, which of course I have forgotten.
Something to do with the Greek background maybe?

I think the 'foes' thing is about death.
I quite understand why we are frightened of it, but feel uneasy about wanting to conquer it.

The whole hell, sheol(sp?), hades thing is very interesting.
I would like to have been told by my parents to study theology.
