We have the opportunity of reading a lot of stuff on the Internet. Some of us have our favorite writers, and others have favorite websites. In most cases it is understood that the one who is writing is a person.

When God speaks to us, whether through scripture or otherwise, He communes as one person to another. We have the right to connect to God through our own channel, rather than through another's belief about Him. When we read the Bible it should be understood that even though a person is writing, God is speaking.

You don't know what I look like, and we don't know what God looks like. Maybe God forgot to introduce Himself? But how much more clear could some things be, than when Jesus tells his disciples that His Father looks like Him. “If you have seen me, you have seen my Father.” http://scriptures.lds.org/query?words=%22seen+the+father%22&search.x=27&search.y=3

There is a place for belief, but it must link to our gut feelings about God. If the whole trinity thing is confusing keep searching until you are at peace with understanding. Wisdom does not betray truth.

God clearly teaches that man is created in His image, that Jesus is His Son. Jesus repeats over and over that we have a Father who lives in Heaven. Jesus showed us how to pray to Our Father in Heaven. He also teaches that the Holy Ghost is a powerful witness.

The night terrors might tell you to give up on yourself, to fear life, or that you have been jipped of truth and happiness, etc.

Once we understand the type of message God is likely to commune to us, it becomes easier to stop and listen, or jump to attention when something "catches" our interest. God believes in your success within the life He has gifted you. He would say you are of infinite worth. He would want you to feel His love.

Think of the last time you felt peace. Was that not God whispering to you? God doesn't always speak in words. There is a whole language out there of feelings, sensations, impressions, and instincts. http://scriptures.lds.org/luke/24/39#39

Our sensitivity to these things is developed in much the same way as our physical body is strengthened with food. We increase our (faith) sensitivity by reading the scriptures, and then trying to pattern our life after the teachings and examples we read about, with The Holy Ghost to guide us along the way. If I could sum it up with two words, I would say,
"It's real"

Mental disorders are also real. Many of us are troubled with them, so to balance real with real is the quest. I believe there is balance in the heart of nature, that through the gradual unfolding of understanding and wisdom, man gently presses toward that center of existence where he can feel a one-ness to God. To exist in rhythm with nature while surviving in a world of turmoil brings a peace that as we conquer this amazing maze, can enjoy. The purpose of life is to figure this out.
