Although "religious ecstacy" and "mystical experience" are not terms I am completely comfortable with, it is very possible you had a touch from God during a hard time in your life. I say this because your faith was strengthened, and you now have a longing for God and a strong desire to be a Christian. That sounds just like something God would do. :) May you continue to seek, because then you shall find. God bless you on your journey.
