breathing more regularly.
allowing myself to sleep until 10:00 am without guilt (or at least shame), though husband certainly disagrees with that one.
But I think it's helping me cognitively.
I Will write something today. And take out the trash. Perhaps I'll even do the dishes.
One thing that did bother me about that book was little suggestions such as keeping the house free of clutter/cleaniness, etc. This is something I grew up with, and, trust me, I love an immaculate house. But I love it because that's something I am drawn to, in the same way some people love minimalist design and others love country.
My husband and his grandmother are very clutter-oriented and Gram's idea of cleaniness is rinsing off the fork used to dig the hole for the plant outside before using it on your steak.
I can't Imagine that God would give one hoot about a clutter-free home. Who cares? As long as things are safe and healthful, i.e. bugs and mice aren't everywhere, then that's just fine.
Again, this comes from being told that my "dirty" room displeased God. It also played very nicely into my OCD - I would fold clothes 20 times because I didn't think they were "perfect" enough for God.
We all just got ta live a little, relax a little...
