Hi Racer,
maybe instead of focusing on restriction, you think about adding. Making postive additions to your diet. Here's what I'm doing- I'm trying to eat dairy and fiber for breakfast, and a vegetable for lunch and protein for dinner, and a healthy afternoon snack.
And at least one (small) treat a day, like a scoop of sorbet or square of chocolate.
See, nothing about taking away stuff- but if I'm full on apples and fiber and protein, then my body's less likely to go into panic mode (panic being binge mode)
And you don't need to move a whole lot. I'm having a lot of problems getting my booty off the computer chair, so I completely understand where you're coming from. My meds are making me sluggish and lethargic for the first 2-8 hours of the day. Oh well. I try to walk to do my errands, and ride my bike to work (when anxiety and weather permit!). Take the stairs rather than the elevator.
The other thing that helps me get more activity is when I'm watching TV, I try to get up every commercial break and DO something- pick up the living room, 25 push-ups (girly push-ups) wash my pots and pans. Then I go back to couch potato for 8 minutes. think of it as an "interval workout" haha, but it's better than nothing!
your friend,
-ll
p.s. dietician could be helpful, I never have seen one, let met know if it is! i've got some extra blubber and some bad eating habits (too much sugar, for example)
