Too fast. Definitely too fast.
Are you in therapy? That's a good place to explore what triggers you to use food to meet your needs, which it sounds as htough you're doing.
As for losing weight, there's new information that basically shows that no amount of dieting is really going to help. Mostly, it's going ot slow your metabolism. Exercise, on the other hand, DOES help. Exercise is the key, if you are serious about losing weight.
And exercise doesn't have to be hard to get. I make sure to park as far from my classes as I can, so I always get a bit more of a walk there. I take the stairs instead of the elevator at times. Etc. Walk to the store, instead of driving. Go shoot hoops with some buddies. It's all exercise.
Also, threads about ways to lose weight are generally more appropriate on the Health board. Threads about why you eat instead of using more healthy coping skills, or about how you feel about yourself and how that influences your eating, are more appropriate to this board. Most of us here have pretty distorted body image, and get slightly nuts when you discuss weight loss with us. Not the best place to learn how to lose weight in a healthy manner. I could tell you, "all you have to do is eat 300 calories per day and work out for a minimum of 3 hours..." but that really isn't the way to do it. Unless you want to die. Much better to get healthy information, which is what you would find on the health board.
Hope that helps.
