GLA content of some common foods...

Posted by LOOPS on September 7, 2007, at 8:29:19

Hello everybody -

I was surprised to find the famous GLA or gamma-linoleic acid that many people supplement is actually fairly common in foods - see this

http://www.nutritiondata.com/foods-000058000000000000000-w.html

Interesting huh? After all the fuss about this fatty acid being only available in decent amounts in evening primrose/borage oil etc - turns out eating peanuts and avocados will get you a helping as well - also beef. Actually I assume the foods listed are the only ones they TESTED for that fatty acid - most other foods just have a '~' which means they DON'T KNOW.
