I cannot stop going on about how wonderful acupuncture is for depression/anxiety! I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and was ignored by both my GP and endocrinologist about the massive depression issues I was having. A friend recommended acupuncture and during the first session it was like someone had switched a light on inside me and a horrible weight lifted. People noticed the difference just by looking at me - and noone known I'd just had treatment either - and also some of these people didn't even know I was depressed in the first place.

I can't say for sure whether it would work for everyone - especially those whose depression comes from a different source than mine - but it is definitely worth trying. And for the reference, my acupuncturist started treatment on my feet and legs for the depression issues.

Hope this helps.
