Hi Glydin -
Thanks for asking!
Chile's a bit cold and damp at the moment (La Serena bit anyway) - which is odd, as it never rains here, just gets cold humid, which is nasty as there's no central heating in the houses. I am therefore very emotionally attached to both the fan heater and the gas heater on wheels, which goes everywhere with me (inside the house that is!).
However....today it looks like the sun is coming out, which will warm things up (desert-like conditions here)- also warms the people up and they go outdoors then and are more sociable. I think we have vast changes in both temperature and air pressure here, which makes me more nuts than I ever was before!
So this is the hardest time of the year for me being Winter, and this year's thrown a bit more isolation my way than before. Also my husband's off to some astronomy conference in La Palma for 10 days, which leaves me as usual all on my Tod. Ah well. I'm trying to compile a big portfolio of lots of composition (music) but it's not going very fast. I get sidetracked so easily!
One of my main problems here is I can't *officially* work (Chileans don't like giving English people visas) - in fact officially I don't even exist here - I am here on my husband's visa! I have to be very careful about this or we'll both get deported. HOwever I do teach the piano to a couple of people, but wish it could be more, like when I was in England (not that I want to go back there).
So I have too little meaningful contact with people and not enough things to do (that I really like doing). Apart from that I'm basically most of the time better than I was (fell into a deep angst-ridden depression after about a year here), but....I still have bad days (yesterday for instance was really crap). My bad days do coincide with two things usually - 1. midweek boredom/loneliness and 2. cloudy dank weather.
You'd think with being half Scottish I'd be used to this kind of weather, but I just seem to react more strongly to it that most people seem to.
Aha - I'm sure you didn't really want to know all that, but once I get going....
And how are things going for you?? I hope you have success with the EPO - how much will you be taking??
