Could this alteration simply be the psychobiological substrates of the chocolate-eating experience? After all, the cannabinoid system obviously is involved in the experience of eating delicious food (CB1 receptors regulate leptin, as well). Think of it this way: psychotherapy has been shown to produce some of the same changes in the brain as AD treatment does. Does this mean that psychotherapy is psychoactive like a drug? Yes and no. The message: there is a neuropsychobiological substrate for every state of consciousness.
