Hi to everyone. I'd like to hear from everyone who takes Magnesium. What form of Magnesium do you take (magnesium oxide, magnesium glycinate, magnesium citrate, Mg-taurate, etc. etc.)? Why do you take that particular form? Have you tried other forms? If you've noticed a difference in the effects that different magnesium compounds have on you, can you explain the difference to me?
I have taken Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Citrate and Magnesium glycinate. These days, I prefer the chelated Magnesium glyinate. I take it at night, and it feels as if it is the most effective one for relaxing me, helping me sleep, and for alleviating PMS; however, I hear others say the same about citrate.
One other question: Do you take your Magnesium with Calcium, or do you separate them? I used to take them together, but lately I've been taking Calcium during the day and Magnesium right before bed. If I take the Magnesium glycinate too late at night, I have even more difficulty getting out of bed than usual the following morning. Instead of a pleasant relaxing effect, I feel more sluggish, so the timing is definitely important.
