We don't have secure IT systems.
Our Universities got gutted (along with everything else). They didn't encourage the students who were competent, they didn't offer jobs to the students who were competent, they didn't invest in the development of competent systems.
So we have to purchase IT systems from overseas.
And since we think we are so very very very very very very very much cleverer than everything and everyone else in the world we think we do really really well at paying so little for so much...
Of course we are too stupid to see that we are basically just handing over all the data of all the people for foreign interests. Too stupid, even, to understand how much money the data would be worth. Just giving it away...
Apparently administrators (CEs and the like) have all the personal health data etc etc here. To decide what (if any) is relevant to give to clinicians. They don't think about how the people who design / administrate the software systems have administrator access... To alter or to change information, even, in the name of 'security'.
Scientific research...
Legal reports...
Student essays...
Just giving it away. Not even to the highest bidder.
For a country who has no choice but to take the high moral ground...
We are too stupid to even understand it.
