I am sorry to think that the community would consider deputies like that. As I recall, I volunteered after a period of time of escalations that resulted in a large number of administrative actions, when I thought that if the problem had been addressed earlier, it would have never gotten to that point. I think the deputy role *did* serve the community. Even when Dr. Bob's absences were less frequent than they are now. I find value in moderation.
I think perhaps we come from different perspectives regarding what is best for a community. I have been hurt more by peers in my life than by authority figures. Dr. Bob, in my eyes, is remarkably good at separating his feelings about posters from his administrative actions. I trust him and I respect him.
I hope I'm wrong about anger towards council members. I hope it goes well for Babble, and that the council is universally seen as benevolent. I hope that council members are blessed by wisdom, and do not allow personal feelings about posters to influence their assessments about a poster's return. I hope there is clarity and transparency and that council members are able to explain their reasoning for declining requests. And that they feel a certain amount of responsibility for the consequences of approving them.
