I have only followed a dozen or so threads on the Faith board. I recollect reading quotes of religious scriptures that seem to be more conditionally exclusive than unconditionally inclusive. However, I think it is the tenets of some religions to believe that their way is the best, if not only way to think and act. Is it uncivil to quote such things in a post? Does exclusivity indicate a put down of all others? All I can say is that I am glad I don't have the responsibility of moderating the Faith board. Yet, it is often people's personal faiths that enable them to cope with mental illness. Spirituality can be an important component of one's overall health. So, since we have a board dedicated to spirituality and faith, and there are fundamental differences between many religions, it seems to me that it is important to remain tolerant of these differences, even if they are exclusive or antithetical.
