Not necessarily.
Being disappointed (rejected) after developing a personal relationship with someone for whom you have such intense unrequited feelings can be traumatic.
Perhaps it is better to worship from afar.
Besides, reality is often disappointing when compared to the fantasy.
Who am I to discourage you from trying, though?
Nobody.
I still think that you can learn things about yourself by examining your current feelings, whether they are requited or not.
