I don't know, Scott.
One observation I would make of it is that I would not (if I were you) find that particularly hurtful, perhaps because it is self-evidently false and neutrally phrased ie no attempt is made to hurt you as much as possible(?).
Rules to minimise hurt are good, so long as they do not cause more hurt than not having them would.
