Things haven't changed much in that respect. Responsibility without any meaningful power. Of course, I'd rather not have the power, or the responsibility.
It's a difficult topic. I have vague recollections of admin discussions about enabling other posters to do something. (Not the same other posters as deputies perhaps.) But that gives me a bit of pause too. It's one thing to have Dr. Bob, a professional who is presumably trained to assess risk, be able to do something that effects a poster's real life. It's something else entirely, to me, to have posters not trained in assessing risk make that decision.
I don't *think* I've ever written anything that could lead others to believe I'm in immediate jeopardy. But I do know that there have been times when there is interpretation involved. I'm not sure I'd feel entirely comfortable with fellow posters making that call.
PC, apart from the first paragraph, this isn't really intended as a reply to anything you posted.
It's just a general concern I have at anyone who isn't specifically trained having the ability to do something that would have consequences in my real life, should they interpret something as being more dangerous than it actually was.
That was always part of the "best of both worlds" of a professionally administrated mental health board. I agreed with Dr. Bob's conclusion in that article, and I don't really like that Babble no longer has the best of those worlds.
