I don't mean to sound like a defeatist, and this is not directed to any person in particular. My observation is that, in reviewing the archives and based on my experiences here, the rules are slowwww to change, if ever. We're talking moss growing on the north side of a sloth slow. Situations escalate, tempers flare, feelings are hurt, old traumas are triggered and new ones developed. It really is the same old same old. There isn't even a pattern, but it crops up repeatedly.
Is it that Dr Bob is resistant to incorporating new ideas or suggestions?
Is it that he'd rather we, as posters, sort out our personal differences without the intervention of him or the deputies?
Is it that he is forcing us to be responsible ourselves for what we read, what we say, and how we say it?
Is it that he doesn't have the time or energy? So many questions. Asked over and over, by many, for so long. And all for nought. He doesn't reply, he won't address direct confrontation or requests for clarification. He's deaf and mute to our repeated pleas.
I hate to see people hurting. I hate to see people hurt each other. The civility rules and enforcement are inconsistent, I agree. I can't spend as much energy as others on trying to affect change, perhaps because I am apathetic? or perhaps because I recognize when Dr Bob is being successfully stubborn?
Just my musings and opinions.
