I do think it's kind of silly to asterisk out and prohibit the short word for flatulent emission. Merriam-Webster, although certainly genius in some regards, is not the ultimate arbiter of what is vulgar. And I think they're always a few steps behind the general population.
I'd be fine with it if Dr. Bob developed his "Bob-Webster" list and included some of the poor lost words that don't seem all that vulgar at all.
But perhaps that is just not included in his list of meaningful activities. :) So, instead of the short word, we all start saying "FE" (for Flatulent Emission") if you'd like. :)
Although... it kind of seems to me that the word f*rt isn't what the block was about, right? It was more about deliberately flaunting the rules multiple times, even after being gently warned about it?
