Well, some things I can think of (which I'm not advocating) are:
  1. spoken or written warnings
  2. questionnaires
  3. signed forms
  4. cognitive status exams
  5. probate court hearings
  6. appointed guardians

That's about it. In the case of presumably competent adults, it's just the first 3.

Will people be less impulsive if they have to answer a questionnaire? Will they be less impulsive if they have to sign a paper with some of the possible bad consequences on it?

Yeah, maybe, at least a little.

You have in mind someone who has some impulse-control problems and could be rushing headlong into this exciting collaboration experience with Dr. Bob and who may regret it later. Someone who may have an experience at the workshop like you have had with many Babble posts that you now regret...

Let me ask you this: What sort of procedure could have prevented you from making posts that you later regret? Is there anything? If not....
