That type of act is usually considered voluntary euthanasia and not suicide as such and is still the subject of much ethical debate. If someone had assisted him, in this country that would have been considered assisted suicide which is an even more difficult issue.

Sorry to barge in and be so blunt, it's just a sensitive issue for me.
