I ventured over to the newbie board to see what greeters do. They greet , of course, which is a good thing. Anyway, I read something about being asigned a civility buddy. I'm not quite sure what this is or how it works although many of you might, especially those of you who frequent this board. Assuming that these are some sort of civility mentors expert in the nuances of Babblespeak, I couldn't help wondering whether I would have benefited from such a buddy in my early days here. I think had I bonded with my buddy, trusting him or her, perhaps I would have had another investment in assimilating into the culture here. Then again, maybe I would have had the same adolescent rebellion against Bob's controls, only this time directed towards my buddy. Who knows. I propose that newbies mentored by their buddies have an unfair advantage over those of us who had to meld alone, and that perhaps this should reduce all of our block counts, but nah, that would never happen. Anyway, how is the civility buddy program set up and how is it working?
