I completely agree. I wish there was a rule about requiring a trigger warning about both SI and suicidal topics.

Of course, as readers we would have to use self-control in not reading those entries.

I also wonder about allowing people to post direct suicide threats. It is SO detrimental to everyone else on the board. I realize that these people need support, but is this the place for them to get it? Recent events have shown that this doesn't always work in their best interest.

Of all people here, I do understand the pain of suicidal thoughts, and the results of threats, gestures, and completed suicide on other people. So, perhaps my opinion is too tainted by experience....but I think there should be a rule against posting suicide threats. It's too painful for the entire community.

That doesn't mean we can't talk about suicidal thoughts and feelings...we HAVE to. Just those direct threats - that's what I'm referring to.
