Relaying question from MD re blocking policies

I explained that a poster was given a 2 week block for threatening to kill another poster while a poster was given 16 weeks for using the word Drippy which you thought resembled another poster's name. He wants to know how many weeks would you block a poster if he actually killed one of your other posters?
I naturally assumed it would merit a PBC if it was a first offence and week if it was a second or third offence. He found this difficult to understand. Was I correct? Or is it irrelevant unless said poster posts about the murder in an uncivil fashion?
