Copyrights--For Dr. Bob

Posted by beardedlady on February 26, 2003, at 17:37:30

I have been concerned for a long time about your clause that says you are allowed to do whatever you want with whatever is posted here.

If I were to post song lyrics--say some Ani Difranco lyrics, which have already been copyrighted, you actually do not have the right to use the contents of my post in any way you choose, isn't that correct? You would have to ask permission of the author, correct?

The poetry that I have chosen to print here has been published and is already copyrighted. In fact, my whole manuscript has been copyrighted.

So, while I can post comments to others, and you can use those comments, you can't, legally, use anything that has already been published elsewhere. Isn't that correct?
