Many of these people are juvenile and base there opinions on crude information posted on the internet.

'Certain' people's posts were driving me MAD - I just couldn't believe how well you were keeping your cool!! I did notice the hints you kept dropping, and I'm still *amazed* at the obliviousness of certain people. I'm just relieved to see that you got a chance to vent. :)

To be honest I felt relieved to see your post.
BTW, being civil is much easier for me over the
internet. In real time, I don't take you know what
from anyone! I often wonder how my little hints
get deciphered. Sometimes I'm not even sure what
they mean. It gets really bad when I start quoting
chinese fortune cookies. One person said not to loose my cool and to counter
bad information with my own studies. But I get mad
because I feel that this is also a distraction to new
people to the newsgroup to flood them with useless information
that they will never be able to decode that is very scientific.
And then to get dirty I subtly pull a tactic like
stating my credentials vs the others, which I feel may backfire
by actually offend some people who don't have the priveledges
in life that I have had. No win situation. When I woke up the
next day and didn't see any "please be civil notes", I patted myself
on the back. ;) (sorry you got nailed).-John
