people ruining integrity of board

Posted by JohnX2 on March 4, 2002, at 4:30:43

Dr. Bob,

I'm getting really tired of late of certain
people ruining the integrety of the newsgroup.

I think that in general people are really good
at sharing that experiences where appropriate
and acknowledging that what their experience is
a small sample of the general population that
will not always apply to those they are giving
advice too.

Other people on the other hand, while trying to
be well intended, are very opinionated, and are
being very persuasive at swaying people away from
what probably is the statistically best suited
direction for them recommended by professionally
trained psychiatrists. Many of these people are
juvenile and base there opinions on crude information
posted on the internet.

I am really about to loose my cool in regards to
being "civil" as I know as an experienced patient
that the people being influenced by these misinformed
people may be wasting there time and delaying the
likelihood of recieving treatment most likely to
address their issues first shot.

Frankly young kids cruising the net shouldn't
be telling other people that their medicine is
junk. Even if they are well intentioned.

I owe a lot to pbabble. When I was at my rock bottom
someone on this newgroup took his personal time to
address to help my dispair and set me along the
right direction and this was a major turning
point in my treatment. I want to return the favor
to all these wonderful people who deserve to be
happy. But I just get so STEAMED by these people
who post one sided view points of medicines and
spoil the integrity of the news group.

Arghhh.

-John
