Exercise will-power. That is not so helpful, I know, but one trick I've been using with success is to "fail" to buy sweets (candy; and the equivalent) and always abstain from eating when you are *not* craving -- this may mean skipping a regularly scheduled meal.
As for healthy eating, I'm no expert, but there is no shortage of information about that on the Internet and in books.
