Hey everyone...
So, previously. I took Parnate for a year or two, getting up to 60-90 mg (honestly, I forget exact dosages). This was a few YEARS ago.
So it's been years since I've taken Parnate. I've been doing awful (AWFUL) and decided to take what was left of the Parnate last night to see how it worked.
It's working well. However, I've taken 60 mg (PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU'RE NEW TO PARNATE) in divided doses in the past 12 hours (10 mg every few hours). It's helped. A LOT. 10 mg on it's own only provided relief for a few hours so I felt the need to repeatedly dose to keep the hellish mood away, as it returned after a few hours or after a meal/snack (carbs??? or what? what's the deal with my mood being tanked by food when i'm on a mood brightener?). A few hours (not sure how many to be honest) after every dose, the bad mood/severe-anhedonia/exhaustionnnn (etc.) would return with a painful vengeance. However, it seemed to become less and less of a problem after each dose of Parnate throughout the night.
My question is, given my knowledge of Parnate and it's interactions, is it safe to continue this dosage schedule (10 mg every few hours)? Or have I already done something really stupid by not starting at 10 - 30 mg and working my way up?
***I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU START AT SUCH A HIGH DOSE. EVEN IF YOU'VE TAKEN PARNATE BEFORE. EVEN IF YOU FEEL HOPELESS. Clearly I'm not sure if this is safe or not, so don't try it.***
