Ssri's and benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines made the anxiety refractory and ssri's created deeper more jagged mood cycles. Some would believe that the worsening mood was progressive, but I disagree. In my case, ssri's were destructive. My problem was that I took them longer than six weeks and that they were prescribed for longer than six weeks. In my own case, they were not appropriate, and studies have observed ssri treatment destabilizes certain individuals.
Imo, in historical context, and factoring for financial corruption, treatment is at least half blind.
