I'm going to make a guess, but it sounds to me like you have too much dopaminergic action taking place. Dopamine causes motivation, but from what I understand, it also causes anxiety when the activity is too high. I am just like you. I hate stimulants, they make me feel like I want to crawl out of my skin. It may be that it's not so much as to how much we have in our system (obviously more is worse), but that the way inwhich our bodies/brains process it isn't as stable as others, or is just different. I believe it's related to dopamine because I had the same experience with: caffiene, cocaine, speed, methalphenalate (an add med) and wellbutrin. Wellbutrin effects mostly dopamine. I'm sure it's much more complex than just dopamine (there are 4 pathways) but I would guess it plays into the overall picture.
