Did not make you sleepy?? I can only imagine that you had developed tolerance to the antihistamine effect from some other med that you were perhaps taking at that time. Or the pills you were using did not contain proper mirtazapine. Mirtazapine is one of the most powerful hypnotics out there. Although it's fairly easy to develop tolerance to its sedative effect.
