Increased heart rate, celexa, lamictal

Posted by stewie on October 29, 2010, at 23:52:12

Hi all,

I am revisiting clexa (20 mgs), lamictal(now at 75 mgs),as it seems to those around me that I am more irritable without them.

It has been a few weeks, so I figure that at least the celexa is having some effect (besides the dry-mouth, stomach issues and loss of the big O). Well, I have noticed that my heart rate and pulse are a bit rapid. I never noticed this the other times I have been on these meds, but things do change.

I called my doctor and he didn't really take a stand about any medication. Kind of "maybe it's the lamictal, maybe it's the celexa, maybe modifying diet and exercizing..". This is how it is with him -at least he is honest about not knowing.

I finally just said "Well, I think it is the celexa" and get his "blessing" to discontinue for the present.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with either of these drugs? I mean, the increase in heart rate is not awful, and I am definitely overweight - I guess I am just looking for some opinions/experiences, since this is so much more art than science.

Thank you.
