In reply to Buprenorphine (Subutex) is very effective + safe, posted by John45 on September 22, 2010, at 20:44:03
John,
Hello, and welcome to Psycho-Babble. It's great to hear that Subutex, or buprenorphine, is helping you so much with your depression and anxiety. There used to be a user here on Psycho-Babble who responded well to buprenorphine, but sadly, the person I'm thinking of committed suicide a few years ago.
I've never tried buprenorphine, but I've yet to experience a lasting robust antidepressant response from any modern antidepressant. I experienced a robust response on Nardil that lasted about three months, but that response suddenly stopped after I received what may have been a bad batch of the medication. My depressive symptoms became significantly less severe at the same time that my psychotic symptoms emerged, so my need for a good antidepressant isn't what it once was. Still, I take some medications and supplements for the symptoms that I still have, and I'm experiencing a partial-but-consistent response.
May your experience with Subutex continue to be a positive one.
