Subutex is being used for treatment-resistant depression in Europe?? This is a pretty potent drug. Although it acts as a partial "opiate blocker" (as you can tell, I'm not a scientist, nor a doctor), it still has a high potential for abuse, unless the patient is already taking strong opiates to begin with (i.e. oxycodone). I could only see it being used *safely* in extremely rare cases for treatment-resistant depression. Of course, this is only my opinion. But that is very interesting!!
