Hey hrguru,
first, THANK YOU!!! It always means a lot to me when someone takes the time to listen to my music and what you said about it is probly the best compliment in the world!
anywho, you aked about the trazodone working for sleep. so far it has been very good for me. I take 100 mg and wind down for 45 minutes then hop in bed.
I have got great sleep for the past 3 nights, and for me that is quite impressive. I feel very relaxed and pleasent when going to sleep, as opposed to that icky seroquel feeling. I get more solid hours of uninterupted sleep than with seroquel. I wake up feeling good instead of groggy. also I have noticed an improvement in my mood and anxiety levels since switching from seroquel to trazodone, including being more sociable which i have really been missing. Two big thumbs up for now! (i understand it's way too early to make a solid judgement, but if it keeps going this way I'm a happy camper.)It also works very well for a friend who is also bipolar and initially recomended it to me. he takes 50mg and sleeps good, and he seems to be pretty cheerful lately as well.
atypical bipolar. delayed sleep phase syndrome.
current meds: welbutrin sr 100mg, seroquel xr 150mg at night. trazodone 50/100mg (just started)
