I hate to weigh in on my experience but when I took Effexor many years ago it became like taking 12 cups of coffee and I couldn't sleep at all.

But I am also one of those who has anxiety and depression at the same time, and its hard to treat both for me with the same agent.

I would hang in there for a bit and see if it is a startup transient, but if it continues for much longer and is intolerable, I'd say it may not be the medication for you.

Klonopin temporarily is fine for the jitters but if the medication is to "break through" the depression, Klonopin is just another CNS depressant.
