Yes, sadly, I've found this true--really doesn't help my SP when I feel like I've got something to hide. A dear friend (from whom I do not hide all of my depression) was talking about sadness as if it were depression. (She is not depressed!) I felt very alone at that moment. I've asked my pdoc how it is to work with depressed people when he himself has never experienced it. He said in so many words that it has taken him years and years to fathom and empathize with the experience of his patients, and he is still always learning. He agrees--only those who experience true depression know.P.S. I don't know the post being reference either.
