It is rather dramatic, isn't it? Not like a simple mood-drift. My ultra rapid cycle followed a 11 day period; 3 days normal followed by 8 days severe deprssion. My switch could take as little as 15 minutes. The descent into depression was crushing. I cycled like this without fail for over 2 years. It stopped when lithium was introduced. Unfortunately, it left me stuck in the depressive phase without remission.
