I though the dopamine activity refered to dopamine receptor antagonism i.e. neuroleptic style.

Even at clinical doses, wellbutrin has very low activity as a dopamine transport inhibitor. I remmber reading as study that suggested at a dose of 300mg, it only inhibited the dopamine transporter by ~15%.

Wellbutrin has an effect on norepinephrine reuptake and also norepinephrine release. Some modern research has theorized that it is working via norepinephrine release.
