Selegiline

Posted by Seraphic on December 30, 2008, at 21:29:08

For 4 weeks I've been taking 40mg.daily of selegiline for chronic atypical depression with dysthymia. I have only noticed the side effects..ie. sleeplessness, nausea, back aches, stiff neck, foggy thinking, lethargy, irritability, with bouts of crying. The crying may be due to my underlying depression, or one of the side effects. I'd like to know if anyone can fill me in on the correct dosage for my condition. Also, how long until I feel any therapeutic effect if their is to be one? I had been on Prozac and Pamelor for many years. These 2 meds kept the crying at bay, by I still felt as if it was an incomplete response as I have always been Dysthymic and still am. Also, the old combination left me with flat affect.

I'd appreciate anyones' input.

Thanks
