Thought I should follow up on my original post in case anyone is wondering what the outcome is.

Not in remission, but not in major depression either. I think I experienced some sort of bounce effect after a severe bout of depression. Who knows what's going on? Anyway, my mood seems to be more or less back where it was before my Tianeptine disaster, for that I am grateful.
